Smart Gas Metering: A Game Changer for Uzbekistan
Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan is integrating advanced technologies to modernize its gas infrastructure. A key milestone in this process is the development of next-generation smart gas meters, manufactured at Texnopark LLC in Tashkent.
Key Highlights of the Project
- Texnopark LLC has built a production facility capable of manufacturing over three million smart gas meters annually.
- Since 2019, the project has significantly improved gas distribution efficiency and consumer energy management.
- The Uzbek gas utility company, Khududgaztaminot JSC, has partnered with Texnopark LLC to deploy a nationwide automated metering system.
- In the past 17 months, over 2.1 million smart meters featuring Italian technology have been installed, with a total of four million units planned for deployment.
- The initiative represents an overall investment of more than 400 million euros.

- Deploying modern gas pressure monitoring and regulation stations to eliminate supply disruptions.
The initiative has already begun in Tashkent’s Shaykhantaur district, where residents have experienced enhanced gas stability, consistent pressure levels, and improved regulation capabilities. Given these early successes, the project will expand to other districts of Tashkent in the near future.
