Strengthening Commitment to Clean Hydrogen and the Energy Transition
Pietro Fiorentini proudly announces its official entry into the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, a key initiative launched by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship & SMEs. This prestigious alliance brings together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to develop a sustainable hydrogen supply chain, supporting EU Member States in achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions as outlined in the European Green Deal.
By joining over 1,000 key stakeholders, Pietro Fiorentini strengthens its role in shaping the future of hydrogen production, transportation, and distribution, as well as its applications across industrial, residential, energy, and mobility sectors.
Pietro Fiorentini’s Role in the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance
Prior to its official admission in April 2021, Pietro Fiorentini actively participated in technical discussions led by the Italian Fuel Cell Hydrogen Association (H2IT). At the beginning of 2021, the company signed the declaration of intent, formalizing its commitment to hydrogen innovation and infrastructure development.
Through its involvement in the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, Pietro Fiorentini contributes to roundtable discussions focusing on:
- Hydrogen production – advancing clean hydrogen generation methods
- Transmission and distribution – optimizing hydrogen transportation via gas networks
- Industrial applications – enabling hydrogen adoption across multiple sectors
- Sustainable mobility – integrating hydrogen into transportation systems
Innovating Hydrogen Solutions for the Energy Transition
Hydrogen is currently injected into pipeline networks and blended with natural gas up to certain thresholds. Pietro Fiorentini is actively developing advanced systems and devices to increase the hydrogen mixing percentage, ensuring seamless integration with Europe’s existing gas infrastructure.
This large-scale implementation has the potential to accelerate the energy transition, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance grid flexibility across the continent.
Establishing a Hydrogen Innovation Hub
Recognizing the critical role of hydrogen in global decarbonization, Pietro Fiorentini is launching a dedicated Hydrogen Innovation Center at its headquarters in Arcugnano (Vicenza, Italy). This facility will serve as:
- A research hub for testing and deploying cutting-edge hydrogen technologies
- An educational center for training professionals, policymakers, and end users
- A knowledge-sharing platform to drive public and industry awareness of clean hydrogen solutions
Pietro Fiorentini: Leading the Green Energy Revolution
By joining the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, Pietro Fiorentini reaffirms its commitment to clean energy innovation and the development of a hydrogen-based economy. Through continued investments in hydrogen infrastructure, advanced technologies, and strategic collaborations, the company is paving the way for a carbon-neutral future.
