Pietro Fiorentini Welcomes 23 New Volkswagen ID.3 Electric Cars in Sustainability Initiative
On May 4, 2021, at its headquarters in Arcugnano, Italy, the Pietro Fiorentini Group officially welcomed 23 Volkswagen ID.3 electric cars into its new corporate pooling fleet. This milestone event underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility and reducing carbon emissions.

A Major Step Towards Green Mobility
The handover ceremony was attended by senior executives from Pietro Fiorentini Group, Volkswagen Italia, Volkswagen Financial Services, as well as representatives from Autovega (the dealership supplying the vehicles) and Duferco Energia (the company installing EV charging stations at Pietro Fiorentini’s locations). Local government officials and media personnel were also present to witness this sustainability-driven transition.
Reducing Carbon Footprint with Electric Vehicles
The adoption of electric fleet vehicles is a significant step in Pietro Fiorentini’s broader sustainability strategy. Employees utilizing these vehicles for business travel will contribute to a projected CO2 reduction of over 64 tons annually—equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by 2,140 trees in one year.
Leadership Insights on Sustainability Commitment
Mario Nardi, CEO of the Pietro Fiorentini Group, emphasized that the initiative is not solely about cost-effectiveness:
“We anticipate a strong return on investment in terms of total cost of ownership. However, our main goal is to drive a cultural shift towards sustainable corporate mobility and increased environmental responsibility.”
Andrea Alessi, Brand Manager of Volkswagen Italy, echoed this commitment, stating:
“We are honored that Pietro Fiorentini has selected our Volkswagen ID.3 electric vehicles to kickstart their green fleet transition. The ID series, including the ID.3 and ID.4, is expanding, and our long-term strategy focuses on achieving CO2-neutral vehicle sales by 2040.”
Corporate Investment in EV Charging Infrastructure
To support this transition, Pietro Fiorentini is installing EV charging stations across its main operational sites, including:
- FAST plants in Scandiano, San Vito al Tagliamento, Desenzano del Garda, and Rosate
- TIV Valves facility in Rescaldina
- Arcugnano headquarters
This infrastructure upgrade ensures that employees can conveniently charge their vehicles at company premises, further encouraging the shift towards electric mobility.

Expanding the E-Mobility Initiative
Beyond the pooled vehicle fleet, Pietro Fiorentini plans to extend its e-Mobility initiative by gradually replacing individually assigned company cars with electric or hybrid alternatives. This initiative aligns with the company’s broader vision of achieving environmental sustainability and promoting green corporate policies.

Driving a Greener Future
Pietro Fiorentini’s investment in electric mobility solutions highlights the company’s dedication to reducing carbon footprints, embracing innovative sustainability technologies, and leading by example in corporate environmental responsibility.
As businesses worldwide seek to transition to greener alternatives, Pietro Fiorentini is setting a benchmark in the industry, proving that sustainability is not just an option—it’s a necessity for the future.
