Advancing Renewable Energy with Hydrogen Innovation

PLT Energia, a leader in renewable energy solutions, is integrating green hydrogen into its sustainability strategy with the help of Hyter, a Pietro Fiorentini Group company. Thanks to Hyter’s cutting-edge electrolyzer, PLT Energia will utilize hydrogen as an energy vector, further enhancing the environmental sustainability of its offices in Cesena, Italy.

PLT Energia: A Pioneer in Renewable Energy

With 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, PLT Energia oversees the entire value chain, from wind and solar farm development to direct energy sales. This hydrogen integration project marks a significant step in eliminating CO₂ emissions from its operations while gaining strategic knowledge for future large-scale hydrogen applications.

Hyter’s AEMWE Electrolyzer: A Breakthrough in Green Hydrogen Production

At the heart of this project is the Hyter electrolyzer, a high-efficiency green hydrogen generator based on AEMWE (Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyzer) technology. This innovative solution enables the electrolysis of water, using renewable electricity to produce clean hydrogen with zero emissions.

Currently undergoing demonstration testing at the Fire Service facility in Montelibretti (Rome), the electrolyzer will be delivered to PLT Energia by the end of 2022.

Integration with Photovoltaic Energy

The photovoltaic system installed at PLT Energia’s facilities will interface with the Hyter electrolyzer, ensuring a seamless supply of green hydrogen for electricity and heating needs. This initiative is being developed in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano, which provides technical expertise and research support.

This pilot project serves as a stepping stone to scaling up hydrogen adoption across our multi-megawatt renewable energy plants.”
